Just bought it, can't wait to play it.

sooo.. i don't wanna moan too much but any chance of an .lha version?

(1 edit)

Too bad still no WHDload install released ... since none of my Amigas still have a normal DD disc drive, I can probably never play the purchased game. I can't get it to work with the Gotek.

Really nice game for the first view. I get a good old Elite feeling here.

abraxxious...

I still uses Floppy drives on my Amiga, always. Every Game I get I test it only real floppy drives, also Download versions. For me personally it is a must have, to have a Disk from a Amiga Game.

I also writing for the Amiga Future and test all Games on real Floppys and real Amigas, to see how they done it. I just use WinUAE to make screenshots. We planned a review for the next AF.

So for me personally a HD Installition for a one Disk Game is not a must have, but will be nice. Drag n Drop did not work here, thats a pity.

Thank you Amipeguser.

We plan an article about your Game for the next Amiga Future. For me the most important thing is a save funktion, which is missing at the moment.

Some of Lord77s ideas are great and it would be nice if you can realise some of them, but I believe that costs a lot of work.

Something like WHDload will be surely made by someone at the EAB, automatically.

Magazine article of the game would be always like a dream come true for me. I thank Italian Passione Magazine also ! Yes, saving should be high on the things to do. After the summer, the development has been slower though.

Hmmmm, any chance of a future version allowing the choice of a male character? I refuse to play a game that forces me to be a little girl. :)

Also, almost no one in the Amiga community uses floppy drives, or even emulated floppy drives such as a Gotek, for anything other than installation purposes - any chance of a HD installable version?

No no, you are saving her :) You are not shown in the game.
I have to look in to that.

Feedback from a Frontier & X-Beyond the Frontier Fan:

Pro:

Nice feature with the appearing pilots who want something from you

Control similar to Elite, but only rough

Cons:

Enemies are always the same

Space stations always look the same too

Immediate spawning of enemies as soon as you collect something

Enemy ships are faster than your own

You can't respond to enemy requests like "Give me your cargo" or hand it over

No checkpoints or save games

No WHDLOAD or HDD installer

What would be nice:

More types of ships -> Friendly as well as hostile

More diverse weaponry -> As a purchase option

More variety in space station designs

Stronger engines to catch up to pirates or flee -> As a purchase option

A space security authority that intercepts attacking ships near the station

Clearer mission objectives -> Better hints

Random spawning of pirates instead of always right when you pick something up

The universe feels somewhat empty, lacking ship traffic, especially around space stations

Dropping cargo

Communication with space stations and pirates

-> I'll give you the cargo -> Pirate won't attack

-> I'll keep the cargo -> Pirate's response -> I'll fight you for it

I hope you're still working on it; there hasn't been something like this for the Amiga in a long time. THX for your work

Thank you for the feedback.

You described the possible future of this game well.

It is right, that there is now only these parts of a space game,

and they can be improved and made more intersting.

But also new features can be added.

There is the possibility to open the "galaxy" with some simple procedural formula.

But maybe first make these characters interact more.

Also some sub-missions could be inserted before you get the ray-stones.

All of your suggestions and points are very good.

Have it unfortunately despite Gotek not get to run. It only comes the message that the assignment is missing. Also mount via OS3.2.2.1 has not helped. An installer would be nice. Otherwise I have to copy it to disk. But I have only one external drive.

I don't know the Gotek. could it mean, that Amiga doesn't see Gotek as df0: ?

Unfortunately not, I have the Gotek on the second floppy port. Thus it is DF1. A WHDload install would be nice.

Is the youtube video running on an stock A1200 with 4MB of fast ram?

I had to do it with Amiga Forever A1200+4mb configuration (same speed), to get the video.

Very impressive!

(1 edit)

could you please make an .lha version? the .adf version is hardcoded to use DF0: so i can't even copy it off : (

(1 edit)

Yes, The 3d objects need a full path  and the root is now on the df0: because of the target specs. I see the problem, if df0: for example is not working. If everything keeps stable, I will release version, with changeable path. Too bad, the objects can not be embedded inside the game like the other graphics.

No worries about loading other files. If it could just run from a folder and load using a relative path that'd be great. This way it could run from hdd.

Hi ! Given it a quick try, really enjoyable game, thank you so much ! Will definitely get back to you later with proper feedback ! BTW, one has to set a DF0: assign to get it running from the HD.

Cheers & thanks so much for your great work !

Thank you!

Will this work with PiStorm32-lite?

I have done all the latest testing on A1200+4mb. It has time based movement, so it should feel the same
on faster machines.

Thanks :)

Yes, works great on A1200 with CM4

Excellent. It does need to be in DF0: and my floppy drive has decided to die but I shall try once it's replaced/repaired.

Nice game!

Thank you for the video!

any demoversion? more screenshots? trailer video?

There's now a short video added.

thx you. my first impression after buy is "not bad" :) (a1200/4mb fastram).

Thank You!
